　　阅读小学生的文章往往可以得知他们的梦幻理想世界，小女孩梦想成为一隻独角兽（unicorn）或自己成为神奇女侠（Wonder Woman or WonderGirl）或公主（Princess）之类，以非人类可以达到的功能帮助她们闯蕩江湖，消灾解难。小男孩往往希望自己製造铁甲人，或者甚至自己成为铁甲人、超人或无敌铁金刚，Iron Man, Superman, Batman, Spider-Man之类，以不死之身帮助他们锄强扶弱，保护世界。

　　姑勿论是神奇女侠或是无敌铁甲人，我也欣赏同学善良正义的内心，同学在撰写unicorn或Superman的时候喜欢用拟人法或者不同的物象的表面上比喻（a range of figurative language），可是文章不是太有趣，篇幅也有限，因为只是集中描述同学一个人身上的英雄主义。Variety always makes writing interesting; imageries expansion, choice of verbs/adjectives/adverbs can definitely help. 

　　同学往往忽略unicorn及hero本身的代表性，譬如看似白马的独角神兽在中世纪、文艺复兴及古希腊的时候象征着纯洁及优雅。It could be an emblem of grace and purity that governs harmony and strength. 同学如果能把描述的对象扩大化，描述背景及其对读者在现代社会的影响，那文章整体也会比较丰富。读者也会认为feel real, simply because it is relevant to their daily life. 

　　同学可以试试比较以下两个小段落：

　　第一段：

　　Unicorns are emblems of grace and strength. I believe I would be a catalyst who can create positive change to the world if I were a unicorn. I would ride to Sweden and team up with Greta Thunberg to stop the climate change. Of course, I must polish my spoken English in order to effectively communicate with Greta. 

　　第二段：

　　After I become a Superman, I would create many magical tricks to improve my life. For example, I would convert my small flat into a super video game centre so everyone wants to play games in my flat. I can be a millionaire easily. 

　　第一段的内容明显地有大量的发展空间，第二段作者只是把重点放在自己的财富增值当中。

　　Imageries expansion不是每一位同学可以做到，也不是每一位同学也关心国际时事；只希望同学在descriptive writing，描写自己喜欢的事情物件之余，也将事物的意识形态作有些微深度的发展。很多时候同学说想像不到什麼东西可以写，最主要是因为他们只是专注在自己的世界裏，把眼光放大，会看见世界的美丽，文章也丰富起来了。
